Purple Daggerwing ~ Marpesia corinna ~ Framed Butterfly

This butterfly packs a real colour punch! Bands of rich orange adorn the outer wings, whilst a metallic purple catches in the light on its hind wings. Native to Peru, this butterfly species takes its name daggerwing from its longer dagger-like tails.
